For my last MYST EVER i decided to do the movie Dumb and Dumber. My little brother and I watched this movie 2 weekends ago while our family was on a little bit of a road trip. This is a family movie that is watched at least once a year and it just makes you cry in laughter from the beginning until the end. It's humor is a little sick and twisted though so it's not for everyone it even might offend some but i love it. the movie is about A pair of dumb friends named Harry and Lloyd set out on a cross country trip to return a briefcase full of money to its rightful owner, a beautiful woman named Mary Swanson. However, the duo are unaware of a bigger conspiracy involving Mary and the briefcase, and a pair of criminals involved in the conspiracy attempt to chase Harry and Lloyd down for the briefcase. The stories plot might seem a little out there, that's because it is but I'm telling you it is hysterical. Having watched this movie basically since birth it was hard for me to do this but i gave the movie 4/5 stars, it is very deserving of that 5th star but if i was a film critic i would be misleading a certain a group of people that don't share my sick humor. and that is why it wasn't 5 stars, most people i feel will love it but there are some scenes that would make some feel uncomfortable or just make them think it's stupid.
The Farrelly brothers directed this movie and you can tell if you have seen some of their other films because they share the same sick humor which I'm sure is being generated by them. One of their movies that i think is really similar is "There's Something About Mary" because it's a similar plot about a guy tracking down his high school sweet heart and he travels across the country and has some pretty irregular events occur that are funny. Also he is in a competition for her love with 3 other guys and the movie again has that sick humor. Me My Self and Irene is another movie directed by the Farrelly brothers that is very similar. you have to watch them to really find out what I'm talking about. see for yourself.

Most of this movie was filmed in aspen, colorado which really offered most of the setting which was a big part in the movie just with the mountains in the back round it looked really natural and cool and made the picture better. This movie though wasn't made to wow you with cinematic elements it was made for you to laugh so the composition was really the most important part of the movie. without the story this movie would have been as good as what i could come up with on my Iphone.
one scene that i will remember forever is when Lloyd drives over 100 miles in the wrong direction and harry gets so mad because they run out of money and cant pay for gas. so harry gives up on the trip and starts walking home and abandons lloyd but as he's walking lloyd goes home sells a bunch of stuff like harry's dead bird to a blind kid and buys a mini bike to get them to aspen and me being a little kid i thought it was the coolest thing ever. he shows up and harry drops the famous quote "you just came back and totally redeemed yourself" then they drive the rest of the way on a mini bike it was priceless.
Hey brian good post. I love this movie too i watch it when I go on road trips and stuff. Your right about the humor part, it isnt for everyone because it can be offensive or just plain stupid sometimes. But if you like stupid humor youll love this movie. The scene you mentioned was one of my favorites too, I also like the scene where the police officer stops them because he thinks theure drinking beer when theyre driving. Anyways, have you seen the second movie, "Dumb and Dumberer"? its pretty funny too u should check it out. Good post
